October bakes when she's stressed, while Joe plays guitar for solace. Do you have a hobby or ritual you engage in when you're upset?

Exercise or eating are my forms of consolation when stressed (sometimes one without the other). Because I love to bake, I understand October's outlet...and I also find it soothing and distracting to play the piano when I am stressed.

Cooking, especially baking. When I was younger, playing the piano or the trombone (I still do that, but I'm not nearly as good as I was, which can add to my frustration).

I used to try to kill stress with alcohol, which worked pretty well but wasn't healthy. Now, I think I'm more likely to ask my husband go for a walk with me. The movement and being outside helps a ton, plus it gives me the opportunity to talk it out.
My husband cleans when he's upset.

I take a walk outside to clear my head or play video games or read. I like to make things too, knitting, weaving, etc. all help me focus on something 'else' but most of all, I try very hard to practice Accept and Adapt.

I really like poniesnpearls idea of accept and adapt. I’ve been using those 3 words as a mantra in meditation to help focus. It’s a much healthier and more productive way of dealing with stress than my go to method of eating excessive amounts of chocolate!

I really liked these examples in the book and could relate to both. I really enjoy cooking and painting as ways to destress and really feel it’s a way to put that energy into something constructive and purposeful.
